As winter sets in, dry, cracked and chapped skin becomes a common problem, especially on hands and feet. According to the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), 81 million Americans suffer from dry, itchy or scaly skin in winter. Left unattended, podiatrists and dermatologists say dry skin can quickly become dehydrated, cracked or bleeding.
